Onto the next breed of cats we have the Birman cats. So here are some facts on the birman cats.

We have no clear record on how the breed of the cats origin exists, but most people claim the breed of the cats have originiated from the companies of temple priests in the northern Burma in the mount of Lugh.

Birman cats were almost wiped out as a breed when World War II occured and only two existing breed of the cats were in Europe at the end of the war

The Persian cat and Siamese cat helped breed the birman cats and by the early 1950's pure birman cats were being procuded again.

The breed of the birman cats were then restored in Britain in 1964.

Birmans have medium-sized, rectangular body with a broad face and distinct Roman nose. The ears are described as ideally wide on the base and they are tall. The eys are rounded and are a deep sapphire blue color.

The cats fur is medium-long and has a silky texture, they have no undercoat and are less prone to matting. The coat color is always pointed for constrating and have pure white symmetrical "gloves" on each paw.

The white must involve all the toes and in the front must stop at the artiuclation of the toes to the metacarpals. The gloves should extend noticeably further up the back of the leg finishing with an inverted V extended half to three-fourths up the hock

Any oher spot or the white on the points is considered a serious fault. The base body color is white to cream with a wash of color that corresponds to the points, but much paler. Recognized point colors are seal, chocolate blue, blue, lilac, red, cream. Tabby and tortie variations in seal, chocolate, blue or lilac are also allowed; other colors are in development.
